These were the other way around in the original set but I prefer the new arrangement as this allows easier access to the guns which are more likely to be frequently removed and replaced. The laser should actually emit from the point at which the tributary lasers converge but I think this would necessitate the creation of a new piece and such a structure might be rather fragile.
