I've had various compacts but only the Fuji X20 had a viewfinder, which was a bit on the small side and the sensor was still quite small. There are aberrations where the shots are of the sharpness i expect from a camera of this class. I find that if you obsess more over the adventure and less on the tech you get a lot more smiles per dollar. Through ebay I settled on a Hong Kong dealer with lots of positive reviews and got the LX100 for £465 (716 US dollars). I love using the Aperture ring, makes me think every time I take a shot.
